When I started to join Boredoms, I was talking with Eye, and he wanted to make a very special instrument. I asked him what kind of instrument he wanted, and he said, “I want to make a sound like an orchestra hit by an electric guitar.” I made the first version of Sevena in 2007 or 2008. It has 42 strings from one big body, so it makes very beautiful and very strange resonations. At first, Sevena had just one output. Then I made it so the outputs go to mixers and I can control the sound and resonations. It sounds like a guitar, but like church bells, too. I like that. The tuning depends on the show. I have maybe over 30 types of tuning. Everything is an open tuning, though.
